Welcome to my blog!
This has really been a long time coming… but as a typical college student, I have procrastinated starting a blog to share with you all of my photo adventures.
However, after some severe encouragement, I am here! Since I don’t have a shoot to tell you about, as my future posts will do, I will tell you a little about me and my passion for photography.
While being a photographer was not always my career goal, I have always loved pictures. Wether it was looking through old family pictures, pictures in magazines of horses, or other people’s portraits, I have just always loved pictures. I dabbled a little with photography in 4-H, but didn’t really pursue photography until I bought my first “legit” camera- a Canon 40-D.
My brother was the lucky individual who got to be my first model. Yikes.
After a while, I knew this was what I was meant to do. I focused on becoming better and learning everything I could. This lead me to attend photography school in Massachusetts for a semester. There I learned so much about the industry and made some pretty amazing friends.
Since I have been back to Kansas, I have been working to build my brand and my business all across Kansas. I have shot countless weddings, portraits, families, events, animals, sunsets, engagements, singers… the list goes on and on. I have loved every minute of it.
During all of that time I have been working to finish my degree in Agricultural Communications and Journalism at Kansas State University. BUT… after this weekend (pending the positive outcome of one 16 page paper and one genetics final) I will finally be a college graduate and ready to pursue my business full time.
In mid-June I will be re-locating to Salina, KS. I am excited to go where no one knows me and where I really feel like God is calling me. It is scary to be going out fully on my own, but I am confident that I am heading in the right direction.
That being said… I hope you visit this blog often and get to experience some of the amazing things I get to experience. I hope that you can find some inspiration for yourself here. I hope that someday I can make some photographs for you.
